NY Common Panty Program Goals & Outcomes:
Nutrition Initiative for Children and Families (NICF)
FY12 Goal: 80% or more of participants will show increased knowledge, changes in attitudes, intentions and behaviors about healthier eating habits through changes reflected in the pre/post evaluation.
Outcome: Goal met. 81% of participants showed increased knowledge, changes in attitudes, intentions, and behaviors about healthier eating habits as reflected in the pre & post evaluation. As reflected in the program analysis, the overall improvement from pre to post evaluation is statistically significant.
New Goal for FY13: 90% of the 375 children participating in the NICF program will successfully complete the nutrition course by attending at least 10 of the 12 sessions.
Choice Pantry
FY12 Goal: Provide 7,000 households with food.
Outcome: Goal exceeded. NY Common Panty provide 7,997 individual households with food.
New Goal for FY13 a): Provide 8,000 households with food.
New Goal for FY13 b): Provide increased access to recipes for food, cooking tips, and nutrition information for specific food items distributed in Choice Pantry.
365 NY Common Panty Case Management
FY12 Goal: Secure at least $2.5 million in new benefits for participants. Ensure 220 households receive legal
counseling services from on-site provider. Ensure at least 270 households receive multiple benefits.
Outcome: Goal exceeded—NY Common Panty and its onsite partners accessed $4.9 million in new benefits for our participants.
Part two of goal met, confirmed receipt of 248 households receiving legal counseling. Part three of goal not met, NY Common Panty ensured 162 households that received multiple
cash benefits.
New Goal for FY13 a): Secure at least $3 million in new benefits for participants.
New Goal for FY13 b): Refer at least 300 eligible filers to appropriate free tax preparation.
New Goal for FY13 c): Ensure at least 270 households receive multiple cash benefits.
Hot Meal Program
FY12 Goal: Provide at least 85,000 meals.
Outcome: Goal not met, 84,868 meals provided through Hot Meal Program.
New Goal for FY13: Provide at least 85,000 meals through Hot Meal Program.
